Welcome to Put-in-Bay! We’re glad you’ve made it to the beautiful Lake Erie Islands. There is an abundance of things to see and do here and one of the best ways to go about that is by renting a golf cart and touring the island. Golf carts are licensed motor vehicles and are able to drive on every public road on the island. One of the few places they are surprisingly not allowed is on the golf course.

Put-in-bay is located on South Bass Island and is part of the Bass Island chain which also consists of Middle Bass and North Bass.  Put-in-Bay is home to a lot of history and it played a part in shaping our great nation. The Battle of Lake Erie in the War of 1812 was fought not far from our shores. To commemorate his victory, a monument was dedicate to Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry and to this day it is the third tallest of our national monuments. 

On a golf cart, you’ll be able to drive pretty much the whole perimeter of our 3 mile long island as you check out our state park, two cave tours, 18 hole mini-golf course and scenic island homes. Once you make your way back downtown that’s when the fun begins. There are over 40 bars and restaurants located downtown including Splash! The World’s Largest Swim-up Bar, T&J’s SmokeHouse featuring live country music and a mechanical bull, the Last Resort fire truck bar and Level2 nightclub.

Does this sound like too much fun for just one day? Well it is. Plan at least a two day island getaway by staying overnight at either the Islander Inn or Grand Islander Hotel. Both are located downtown in the heart of all the action on Put-in-Bay.
